Well, the stipple was traced, the eagle pinned and 5 minutes later, the whole project went into the "will NEVER finish this" pile, hopefully never to be seen again. Anyone wanting to stipple an eagle, let me know, otherwise, he remains buried in the black hole; I lack the dexterity to manipulate 20 x 20 of fabric. Maybe the lack of for a lot of things.................ticia

Stipple Sampler----------B-
Ok, go ahead and laugh, everyone who has stippled and has more grey cells left than I, will grant you this one chuckle about me. I once upon a time could stipple "lullabye" baby quilts with eyes almost closed, and after having to modify (grrr) the attachment prongs that Bernina QA missed, looked at little #9, the expensive little devil it was, and couldn't figure out why the needle was in front of the cute little circle. It took a full 5 minutes for this tired old brain (yeah, go ahead and snicker Chele) figured out it was ok for the needle to be in FRONT of the circle.................duh.................Well, I gave myself a B- on the project, its been probably 10 yrs since I did stippling and then it wasn't freehand, I was following a traced project, so maybe I should give myself a B+.
However, Chele's recycled scraps made wonderful "new material" to practice on!
Tomorrow the "Eagle", Jerry bought me a sewing chair tonight (assembly in progress) so I can get out of the "folding lawn chair" and sit at a proper height................yeah................this living off the cuff just to say I went South for the winter isn't too much fun on the budget.
However, it was fun, and no one but me will ever see the sampler again, now if I can just figure out how to download free stipple patterns from the computer...............................to pin over the eagle......................
Been putting lots of time in on genealogy, so quilting is running a little slow. later gang!

Quilting meanderings
Still debating the fate of the eagle, I turned to making scrap material, "trash quilts" as they are called; there is a certain point of satisfaction into turning those tiny little pieces into real fabric, although one does make a mess of the living room, which is the warm room of the house, and is soon over run by the ironing board, the thinking board, the sewing table, rows of fabric and boxes of itty, bitty scraps begged off my quilting friends who think I am off the wall when 2 x 2 is an acceptable size for a scrap. I'm down to fingernail size, I like a challenge. Will have some pictures of some started pieces tomorrow. Today I am going to make you miserable by showing you the ice storms of Arkansas (I thought this was the South)......................ticia unable to sleep with quilt pattern designs and ideas popping in and out of her head..................all chele's fault, it is. I bet I still have quilting strings hanging off my jacket!
At any rate, have to go buy more thread tomorrow and some of that dreaded see thru thread for the stippling. Of course, I have forgotten how, but that's irrelevant, right!

Here is the eagle, finished but not yet stippled; duh............I can't find the Bernina stipple attachment, sigh, a senior moment. I sure hate to have to buy another one but may have to wind up cross hatching this little fellow with very close hatches; I hate buying more tools to loose. He's sitting on the wall contemplating where he wants to be and how he wants to be finished.

Emma Rea - our first great granddaughter
Wednesday, January 14, 2009
Here are my darling grandchildren with my youngest daughter on New Years Day. They are growing so fast I can't keep up with them, just like their mother did. Always good to start the New Year off with something good.
we are always to be reminded that "today is all that we are promised by creator" and I do not remember who stated it or I would give proper credit.
